Being one of the founding fathers of the Hard:Edged crew, or as the head behind the party series Exponence, Feed is a legend of Berlin’s d’n'b scene! He has set the bar when it comes to suspence- and powerful dj-sets. This time he can’t wait to show us the deep, dry and detroit techno side of drum and bass. A party not to miss, if you want to know what it was like, and how (as we believe) the future of d’n'b should sound like.

Our new Residency at the M12

We’re happy to announce our new residency: the M12.
It is a rather small club in the eastern heart of berlin, the Alexanderplatz. What makes it special and so interesting for us, besides its location, is the interior design as well as the visuals. No wonder, since it is run by the VISOMAT INC.
It is a place with an atmosphere perfect for our sound: urban, futuristic but with the link to the past and unique.
Check it out at every second Saturday of the month. So the next date is the 10th of November!
The fee at the door can be considered as “peanuts” and the dj’s playing will be a random choice from our BreakbeatCity rooster.

DJ Lars Lavendel: now part of the crew

Lars lavendel, the head of berlin’s hightek crew, has always been a great guest DJ at the BreakbeatCity events and a great promoter to co-op with. So, having him in our team is just another logical step of progress. From now on, he will be a resident part of the BreakbeatCity Crew, one, who adds some more liquid and soulful, but still different definitions to our sound-spectrum.

Die alte, nicht ganz leicht zu findene, Grenzstation Lutz Friedrich (LF) im Norden des Mauerparks war der Treffpunkt der Fussballfreunde des WM-Clubs Tante Käthe. Nun aber ist sie frisch renoviert und der Austragungort eines BreakbeatCity Events der besonderen Art. Nachdem man vom Mauersegler in der Bernauer Straße den alten Grenzsteifen ca. 500m entlang des Mauerparks gefolgt ist, lädt hinter dem riesigen Stahltor des Clubs der Openair-Bereich zum Chillen&Grillen und der Indoor-Bereich zum Tanzen&Loungen ein (siehe Plan unten). Neben dem leckeren BBQ und abwechslungreicher musikalischer Unterhaltung sorgt eine Tischtennisplatte sowie einen Kicker für den Spass am Wettkampf und auf diejenigen, die sich im dazu passenden sportiven Look herausputzen, wartet gar ein besonderer Preis.
Drum’n'Bass wird auf diese Art familienkompatibel - draußen Essen und Spielen bei relaxtem Sound für alle und drinnen die schnellen Beats - auch für alle!

Apropos Familie: Unsere BBC-Family bekommt ein neues Mitglied: Lars Lavendel ist als Kopf der Hightek Pressure Reihe ein bestens bekannter Seelenverwandter.

Breakbeatcity und die Hightek Crew haben sich für den heutigen Abend zusammengetan um euch die fünfte Bassbin Nacht in Berlin zu präsentieren. Mit einem hochkarätigem Line up feiern wir den 10. Geburtstag von Bassbin Recordings aus Dublin, einem der musikalisch einflussreichsten DnB Labels überhaupt. Drum & Bass der Extraklasse serviert uns u.a. DJ Rohan, umtriebiger DJ und Labelchef von Bassbin Recordings aus Dublin. Seit nunmehr 10 Jahren definiert er mit Bassbin den Sound der grünen Insel. Zero Tolerance unterstützt Rohan mit seinem deepen dublastigen Sound. Unzählige Releases auf Bassbin, Signature, Subtitles, Liquid V sowie Remix Aufträgen auf Hospital u.v.a. verhalfen Ihm zu berechtigten Lorbeeren. Ein besonderes Highlight erwartet uns mit Macc live, dem ungestümen funky Drummer der Bassbin Crew,der uns am 20.4. sein Berlin Debut gibt.
Angemessener Support kommt von den Berliner Protagonisten Felix K, Lars Lavendel,
Wan 2 & MC Mace. Als Location konnte man die legendäre Nachtbar des altehrwürdigen Cafe Mosaku gewinnen, deren Interieur & Tonanlage dem Anlass einen perfekten Rahmen bietet.
Gerüchten zufolge wird es wohl die letzte DnB Veranstaltung im Cafe Moskau sein bevor sich dessen Tore auf unbestimmte Zeit schließen werden.

Paradox live!

Paradox aka Alaska is alongside his fellow producer Seba the founder of dnb’s subgenre “drumfunk” and with this sound determined to chop classical funkloops, like the “amen” to pieces and rearrange them in his unique way. Back in Berlin after 5 years you can experience his drumfunk with moving subbass and deep spheres as well as soulful organic d’n'b played by the local BreakbeatCity crew plus special agent dj feed.

26.07. BREAKBEATCITY meets ZEROTOLERANCE

Um den letzten Abend im Bohannon so richtig zu feiern haben wir uns ZeroTolerance eingeladen aka Cian McCann eingeladen. Cian McCann kommt aus Dublin. Das wisst ihr aber bestimmt eh alle selbst. Bekannt geworden ist er 2001 mit Releases auf Reinforced, Bassbin, u.a. Für Hospital gab es 2003 schon einen Remixauftrag. Zero Tolerance ist überall unterwegs. Zwischen Liquid V Nacht in London und Good Looking Session auch in London konnten wir ihn aber davon überzeugen einen Abstecher nach Berlin zu machen. Gerade hat Cian gesagt, dass er mit MC Fats im Studio war und einen brandneuen Tune gemacht hat. Den will er auch spielen hat er gesagt. Er meinte auch, dass er unmassen von Dubs dabei hat und nebenbei hat er auch noch neue Releases auf Signature, Advanced, Bassbin etc. in der Tasche. Wer im Februar bei Breakbeatcity in der Maria am Ostbahnhof war weiß wie gut er mit Commix den Laden auf seine Art gerockt hat. Mit von der Partie sind die Berliner m.path.iq und Felix.K. Zu den beiden muss eigentlich auch nichts mehr gesagt werden. Soundtechnisch wird es auch bei den beiden deep bis breaky. Traditionell wird sich Felix.K wieder zulaufen lassen und trotzdem die Übergänge hinkriegen. m.path.iq hat den Sommer in der Plattenkiste dabei. Also weitererzählen und vorbeikommen. Hoch lebe der Mittwoch.

Eintritt ist natürlich bis 23.30 Uhr frei. Danach müsst ihr gerademal 5 Euro von euren letzten Banküberfällen abzwacken und uff den Tisch packen.
